The Man With The Beautiful Eyes The lesson of Professor

Jonathan Hodgson, 2000 (UK) - 5 '- cartoon

Children playing in a vacant lot around the house apparently abandoned. One day they meet its occupant, a man to look "hot" ...

In this embodiment, Jonathan Hodgson imaged the beautiful poem by Bukowski, The Man With The Beautiful Eyes . He worked in collaboration with illustrator John Hannah for a "visual poetry" enveloping images of great fluidity, vibrant colors, undulating lines.

The poet's words are particularly valued and treated as "actors" in their own right.

This wonderful short film helps to immerse ourselves in the text, to make us live a moment in the poet's thought.

Leg Agency, 2006 (France) - 1 '02 - papercut & 2D animation

The agency has developed Leg film "collage" to last season SFR mobile Vivons . Graphically very inspired by the works of Peter Blake and Monty Python, this spot shows us neither portable nor anyone trying to call but leaves room for delirious and musical universe.

However, the agency has been accused of plagiarism: in fact, a DVD documentary of skateboarding, Skate More , used for its generic the same graphic style and the same music.

Gabriel Gaultier explained: "Who will believe that we've waited a generation DVD to learn the existence of collage, animation, Monty Python, Peter Blake of Push Pin Studio ? ".

Peter Blake - Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band

Peter Blake - The Mad Hatter

Pushpin Studio

Milton Glaser (Pushpin Studio)

Monty Python

And the choice of the song, he replied: "Mr Blue Sky is one of my favorite songs I had to spend one hundred times in dozens of festivals. It's a worship song in the U.S., it is found even in the credits of the movie version of Magic Roundabout ! .
To learn more, read question about this post on the blog Leg.

For once we have a very lively and poetic advertising, it would be a shame to see it withdrawn a question of "inspiration" ...
