In rummaging right and left on the web, I stumbled upon applied magic to change the appearance of Mac OS X: Magnificent .
This application is an all-in-one: it gives an overview of themes, downloads and applies them. It even restarts the finder and the dock (although sometimes it is necessary to restart the machine so that all details are changed ...)
Tested on Leopard (x86 - hackintosh): A must have!
