Here's a little trick that can tell Apple Mail to use the Trash folder, Drafts, and Sent from Gmail instead of using local folders.
example, by default, when you delete a message, Mail puts it in the trash on the mac but not in the trash folder in Gmail ...
Here's how to solve this little problem:
In the list of files to Apple Mail, select the folder "Gmail - Trash.
Click on the menu "Mailbox" and then "Use this mailbox for" and finally "Trash".
Do the same with records "Gmail - Drafts" and "Gmail - Sent"
